The Omaha North High School Foundation is excited to offer you the opportunity to improve all students’ experiences here at North, whether inside or outside the classroom, through the foundation’s Grant Program. All students here should be able to experience and be involved in elite academic, extracurricular, and social activities that build stronger ties to the North Omaha community. Additionally, you may see opportunities to raise the educational offerings at North by acquiring materials or technology for your classroom.
Application Deadline: Under normal operations, grant requests should be submitted no later than the last Friday in September, December, or March during the school year. The board will act on the applications received at the next regularly scheduled board meeting in October, January, or April of any year.
Extraordinary Application: If an immediate need arises outside of the dates shown above, an application should be completed and submitted. The board will take these applications up immediately. For example, it’s anticipated that there will be opportunities for students to be involved in extracurricular activities in late August or September that need funding. Don’t pass up any opportunity. The board will need approximately 5-7 days to act on these requests.
Application Evaluation: Please complete the entire application, furnishing all requested information. If additional space is needed, please add a second page with that information. The board measures the need by looking at the number of students involved, the experiences the students will gain with their participation, and the quality of the experiences the students will have.
Acquiring Equipment: If you are acquiring any equipment, please include a copy of the supplier’s quote with a description of what is being purchased, the quantity, and the dollar amount.
Awarded Funds: Please note any funds awarded can only be used for the activity or equipment purchase listed. The sponsor is responsible for advising the foundation of any unused dollars awarded. Unused dollars can be repurposed, but only with the written approval of the foundation board.
