Introducing your 2024 Vikings of Distinction honoree:

Michelle Thomas Knolla, M.D. — Class of 1968

At a time when only five percent of physicians were women, Dr. Knolla became one of the first OBGYN doctors in the Omaha area, helping blaze a trail for young women who wanted to enter medical school. During her career, she delivered over 8,000 babies and performed numerous obstetrical and gynecological surgeries. She was also instrumental in launching Methodist’s Skin Renewal Suite and administered cosmetic laser procedures while still maintaining regular office hours in her gynecological practice.

We will be highlighting one of your 2024 Vikings of Distinction each week leading up to the ceremony. They will be honored at Omaha North High School during the school day on May 10. We celebrate with a dinner in the evening. Usually, that event is limited to guests of the honorees, but for the first time, we are inviting the public!! This year’s dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. at Champions Run, 13800 Eagle Run Drive.

The cost is $50 per ticket. You can call Linda at 402-208-4888 to reserve and go over menu options. There are no walk-ins – tickets must be purchased in advance. The money goes to the Vikings of Distinction scholarship fund. The RSVP deadine is April 26.
If you are interested in sponsoring the event but are unable to attend, you can also reach out to Linda at the same phone number and send a tax-deductible check.

Thank you,

Vikings of Distinction Committee

Dr. Knolla was my doctor when I had David back in 1983. She was great and I didn't know she was a fellow Viking. Cingratulations! '76

Congratulations!

#VikingProudWith seventeen students in attendance, the @ops_northhigh vikings were the largest group in attendance at the 2024 IncluCity retreat in Ashland, NE. The sixteen delegates, and one counselor in training, worked with others from across Nebraska, South Dakota, and western Iowa to confront bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination. Be on the lookout for information about Omaha North’s new IncluCity Club where students hope to dismantle stereotypes, build lasting cross-cultural relationships, learn ways to peacefully resolve conflict, and become allies for one another. #place2be 💙💛💙💛 See MoreSee Less

#VikingProudSay hello to Mr. Krebs, our next 30 Ways to Say Yay winner! Mr. Krebs works hard to implement science standards in his classroom, is always open to feedback, goes above & beyond to advocate for all students, & works hard to make sure his classroom is welcoming! #place2be 💙💛 See MoreSee Less
