ONHSF Director, Kimberly C. Sherrod Barnes recognized by The Bloc, INC for excellence in non profit leadership.

Kimberly C. Sherrod Barnes is being honored in the Nonprofit category for her outstanding leadership, advocacy, and commitment to equity in child welfare systems by The Bloc, INC.

As Executive Director of CASA for Douglas County, Kimberly has spent more than 25 years championing children and families—especially within Black and Brown communities. Her influence reaches nationally through the National CASA/GAL Urban Leadership Council, where she helps shape programs that support urban CASA initiatives across the U.S.

She’s a proud graduate of Leadership Omaha (Class 45), Inclusive Communities LeadDIVERSITY, and the Nonprofit Executive Institute—and continues to mentor rising nonprofit professionals through the Nonprofit Association of the Midlands.

A tireless community builder, Kimberly has helped allocate over $1 million to Black-led initiatives through the Omaha Community Foundation community interest grant fund and uplifts Omaha’s Black cultural heritage as President of the Native Omahans Club and the Omaha North High School Foundation.
