Miguel Keith, LCpl USMC
class of 1970
Lance Corporal Miguel Keith is a war hero who valiantly fought to protect his platoon in Vietnam and lost his life doing so in 1970, one year after he enlisted in the Marine Corp. He was awarded the Nation’s highest military honor, the MEDAL OF HONOR, for his courage, acts of bravery and self-sacrifice. A park in South Omaha, Miguel Keith Park, is named for him and the Navy has named a ship, the USNS Miguel Keith, for him.
North High offers a special curriculum and expanded resources for students choosing to study Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. For the past two decades, the Omaha North High School Foundation has contributed funds and resources to support the students who have chosen these pathways of learning and the teachers who light their way.
